Lloyd Carrol Wemken

February 20, 2020 — December 29, 2012

On December 29, 2012, Lloyd Carroll Wemken, after he served God?s purpose in his own generation, fell asleep (Acts 13:36). He was ushered into the presence of his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
He was the most beloved husband, for 65 years to Cleo D. Corbell Wemken, who left his side October 2006, but never left his mind or heart. The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him. (Proverbs 20:7). He was a godly father and grandfather to: daughters, Beth Wemken, Judi Wemken and Jeanetha Wemken; sons-in-love Craig D. Brown and Jim Yost; grand children Vikki Downey, Jennifer N. Brown, Greggory Kason Randall, Cynthia Brown Smith, Laura Jean Stargardt and Willam Wemken Stagardt; great-grandchildren, Lorie Downey Prather, Garren, Grason and Kyle Randall, and Logan Ryder Smith; great-great granddaughter, Delaney.
Called by the Lord as a young man, Lloyd grew in faith and grace continually and became an example of strong unwavering Christian character. He served as a dedicated layman at the First Baptist Church of Morton, TX and later was ordained as a deacon to the Ira Baptist Church in Ira, TX. He served on the board of directors for the Circle Six Ranch Baptist Camp.
He proudly served his country during WWII with three years of service in Army Air Corp in the European Theater. Born February 20, 1920 and raised in Scurry Co. TX, he worked many years for the Lion Oil Company (later Monsanto) in Cochran County, but returned to Scurry County in 1985 to retire.
Services for Mr. Wemken will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Ira Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the Hermleigh Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Donations can be made to the Circle Six Ranch Baptist Camp, PO Box 976, Stanton, TX, 79782
