Pat Johnston

Pat Johnston age 96, was three months shy of his 97th birthday, a lifetime resident of Snyder, TX, died Monday, February 25, 2013 in Georgetown, Texas after a lengthy illness.

Services for Patrick Johnston will be held on Friday, March 01, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Mr. Dale Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnston was born on June 01, 1916 in Snyder, TX to Alonzo and Maude (Lane) Johnston. He married Virginia Greene Witherspoon, who preceded him in death. He then married Magaret Royce, who also preceded him in death. Other family members who went before him were his parents, 1 daughter; Patricia Turner, 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served as a staff sergeant and infantry in WWII. He also served in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Johnston was a farmer and retired as a rural letter carrier for Snyder. He served as County Clerk for Scurry County, as president for the Golden Kiwanis and a Secretary Treasurer for the Rural Letter Carriers Chapter 75 and was a member of the 37th St. Church of Christ.

Pallbearers are: Jack K. Greene, Jackie Greene, Troy Jones, Jerry Baird, R.D. Hale, and

Honorary pallbearer, Larry Paul Greene.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
