Carolyn Cox, age 77, went to be with her heavenly father Tuesday March 5, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
Carolyn was born to C.J. & Nora Smith on November 2, 1936 in Sweetwater, Texas. She married Odell Cox on December 27, 1955 in Ira, Texas.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Meme, Great Meme, and friend to many. She was an active member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church. She sang in the choir, Senior choir, and Handbell choir. She taught Mission Friends, Sunday School, and worked in the nursery. She worked as a secretary for Snyder ISD for 20 years at Central Elementary and Northeast Elementary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.J. and Nora Smith; a step-mother, Thelma ""Sis"" Falls Smith and a niece Charise Smith.
She is survived by her husband Odell of the home, A son and daughter in law; Kyle and Toni Cox of Kingsland, a daughter and son in law; Kristi and Pat Kincaid of Snyder, a foster daughter; D'Ann Preston and her husband Ross of Snyder, two brothers; Tom Smith and his wife Sharon of Graham, TX and Phil Smith and his wife Jolene of Leander, TX.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Patrick & Nikki Kincaid of Springfield, OH; Krystal Beasley of Snyder; Justin Cox of Austin, TX; Josh Beasley & Kendra Iglehart of Snyder; Lindsay Cox & Patrick Merghen of Snyder; Jacob & Stormie Nachlinger of Colorado City; Kenny Kincaid of Snyder; and Braden & Kyla Cox of Kingsland, TX.
8 Great grandchildren; Josh, Blaine, Alize Beasley of Snyder; Jaxon Beasley of Snyder; Blakely Nachlinger of Colorado City; Cassidie & P.K. Kincaid of Springfield, OH; and Paxton Merghen to arrive in July. Also many nieces and nephews and cousins. Also a very special friend Barbara McGee, along with many other close friends.
The family requests donations be made to We Care, a local cancer organization at P.O. Box 365, Snyder, Texas 79550.
Services will be held on Saturday March 9, 2013 at 2PM at Colonial Hill Baptisit Church with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Family visitation will be from 6PM to 8PM on Friday March 8, 2013 at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
