Nelson Alfred Dressler age 95 a longtime Sweetwater resident, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at Snyder Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness.
Services for Mr. Dressler will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories in Sweetwater, Texas under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Dressler was born on February 22, 1918 in Sweetwater, TX to August and Ethel (Aucutt) Dressler. He married Jane McConnell on April 4, 1949. She preceded him in death on June 28, 1998. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sweetwater where he served as a deacon until moving to Snyder. He joined Colonial Hill Baptist Church in Snyder where he also served as an ordained deacon.
He was employed for 36 years at the post office in Sweetwater as a clerk and a rural route carrier. He was also a member of the Executive Board of Big Country Baptist Encampment, Board of Directors of Sweetwater Fair & Livestock Association, member and President of Pioneer City County Museum, and member and President of the Sweetwater Rifle & Pistol Club.
Mr. Dressler was a volunteer in Worls War II. He served with the 12th Air force 319 Bomb Group. He saw action in French Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Corsica, and Italy. He was in the service for 4 years.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother; W.M. ""Beau"" Dressler.
