Jimmie Gwendolyn Cummings

Services for Mrs. Cummings will be held on Saturday March 23, 2013 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church Chapel in Snyder with Dr. Marty Akins officiating. Interment will follow at Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cummings was born on Monday, March 21, 1921 in Snyder, TX to Will Hugh Merritt and Mamie Ann Rhodes. She married Clarence Cummings onTuesday, January 04, 1944 in Snyder, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1994. Mrs. Cummings was a housewife and a member of the Home Extension club. She taught Sunday school for 41 years and helped organize the first Southern Baptist Church in upper Michigan in 1960. She was a member of Church Builders since 1981. She still lived on the same land that her family settled in 1900. She graduated from Dunn High School and went to tabernacle and elementary school at Hell Roarin Holler.

She is survived by:

Jessica Sickels, Jalyn Sickels, Jenna Sickels, Jaxen Sickels
Cooper Lyro, Valerie Lyro, and Priscella Cummings

Teresa Bryant of Duncanville, Tx.

She was preceded in death by:
(3) Sisters:Ruth Lollar, Mary Farris and Tess Mauldin
(1) Brother:Hugh Merritt

Visitation will be from 10 to11 AM Saturday at the First Baptist Church prior to the service
