Alma Lawrence Gladson died Monday, March 18 at Lewisville Memorial Hospital with her three loving children at her side.
She was born Alma Lawrence Bransom in Roscoe, TX on November 13, 1918 to Bart and Ruby (Crook) Bransom, the oldest of four children. On December 23, 1940 she married Waylan Gladson in Snyder, Texas where they resided most of their married life. She devoted her life to her family, being a homemaker and involved in the children's activities. Later in life she included her grandchildren and great grandchildren, going to football games, stock shows, and other activities. She was active in the Senior Citizens, and the Snyder and Breckenridge hospital auxiliaries.
She was a beautiful person both inside and out. Family and friends never saw her, that she she did not have on her jewelry and bright red lipstick. You always knew when you were kissed by the lipstick on your cheek.
She is survived by her daughters, Carla Barnes and husband James of Breckenridge; Renee Nix and husband John of Highland Village, son Charles Gladson of Rockford, IL. Four grandchildren, Michelle Whitfield, Justin Barnes and wife Lori, Kristie York and husband Daken, Zachary Nix and wife Lavender; great-grandchildren, Blake, Tanner, and Taylor Barnes; Quinton and Payton Whitfield; Hank and Knox York, and Evelyn Nix. Sister Carolyn Roberts and husband Alviedoyle; brother Don Bransom and wife Dee, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Waylan, grandsons Todd Barnes and John Paul Nix, brother Charles Bransom, and daughter in law Kathy Gladson.
Services will be held in Snyder, Texas at the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel at 2PM on March 21, 2013 with Mr. Tom Holcomb officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Friends of the family are invited to join her family in celebration of her life. Memorials can be made in her honor to the charity of your choice.
