Walter Lewis Romine, age 69, of Snyder, TX, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Lubbock Specialty Hospital in Lubbock, TX.

Services for Walter Lewis Romine will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 2 PM at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating.

Mr. Romine was born on December 17, 1943 in Aspermont, Texas to Mathie and Murriel (Nash) Romine. He married Janie McBeth on November 27, 1970 in Snyder. Mr. Romine attended the University of Texas at El Paso on a tennis scholarship, and received his Bachelor's Degree from there. He also served 4 years in the United States Navy. Mr. Romine worked for the United States federal government as a system programmer for twenty-three years before retiring in 1994. He was then employed by General Dynamics before moving to Snyder in 1997. In Snyder, Mr. Romine was employed by Wood Group and the Snyder Independent School District before retiring completely. Upon retiring, Mr. Romine became an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the American Cancer Society, providing transportation for cancer patients. Walter Romine was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church and the Friends of the Library.

Two grandchildren, Piper and Coulter Romine of Louisville, KY

Brothers in law:
Paul McBeth and wife, Carol of LaPorte, TX
John McBeth of Bryan, TX
Carlos McBeth of Snyder

Sister in law: Kay Hopper and husband, Rick of Snyder
Numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers; Tom & Willie Romine.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 9, 2013 form 6 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home.

Memorials in Mr. Romine's honor may be made to the Meals on Wheels program, or the Snyder High School Tennis Boosters Club.
