Dorothy Newton

Dorothy Newton age 81 of Odessa, TX, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at Running Water Draw Care Center in Olton, Texas after a lengthy illness.

Services for Mrs. Newton will be held on Sunday, September 01, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Mr. Leonard Hartley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Newton was born on April 03, 1932 in Knapp, TX to Paul and Cleo (Pinkerton) Sawyer. She was a member of Christian Women's Club and Odessa Women's Progressive Study Club. She was also a member of First Baptist Church Odessa, TX. Mrs. Newton was also a member of the choir, a pink lady, skilled seamstress and an avid gardener. She loved bird watching, especially the hummingbirds.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers
James, Douglas and Travis Sawyer and her husband Buford Newton.


Visitation will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 6 PM to 7PM at the funeral home.
