Bill Kimmel, 80, of Snyder Texas passed away on December 11th surrounded by his loving family. Service for Mr. Kimmel will be Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating, under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
He was born November 21, 1933 in Spur Texas to J.H. and Dixie Kimmel. Bill graduated from Ira High School. After graduation he joined the Army proudly serving from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War. After completing his service he graduated from Texas Tech.
September 9, 1956 he married Gay Birdsall and they shared a very special relationship of 57 years. Bill enjoyed a successful career with the Ralston Purina Company holding several positions of increasing responsibilities including National Sales Manager. In 1980 he moved to Snyder to join Midwestern Services as a partner with his brothers. Bill was a longtime member of Colonial Hill Baptist church where he served as a Deacon, taught men?s Sunday school class for 20 years. He also volunteered for many years serving the Meals on Wheels program.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and son Kirk Kimmel. He is survived by his wife, Gay Kimmel of Snyder; a son, Kris Kimmel and wife Denise of The Woodlands; sister, Dixie Burns of Granbury; three brothers, Bob Kimmel and wife June of Colorado City, Philip Kimmel of Houston, Tom and wife Julie of Kingsland; daughter in law, Sonia and husband Devin of Coeur d? Alene Idaho. Grandchildren Kasey, Sean and Brandi. Great grandchildren Caden and Hannah.
Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2013 from 6pm to 7pm at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home .
