Maydell Lewallen

Maydell (Madie) Hall Lewallen, 92, of Snyder, passed away on December 20, 2013, while visiting her daughter, Becky and her husband, Greg Obregon.

Madie was born on November 8, 1921 in Bedias, Texas, the youngest of five children Frank and Katy Nevada Hall.

She attended high school in Colorado City, graduating at 16 years old. in 1942, she met her late husband, William Pershing (W.P.) Lewallen while attending a matched roping in Midland. Lew was in the Army Air Force stationed in Childress, Texas. The married on November 28, 1942. Lew passed away on September 17, 1966 of heart conditions.

To this union, five children were born. Madie is survived by daughters Monette Taylor and husband Ed of LaGrange, TX; Becky Obregon and husband Greg of Alto, NM; Dianne Salton and husband Aaron of Gladewater, TX; Delores Lawson and husband Mike of Gladewater, TX and Bryan Lewallen and wife Fabiola of Surbaya, Indonesia.

Other survivors include 11 grandchildren:
Michelle Guinn of New Braunfels, TX; Tara Thompson of Austin, TX; Veronica Obregon of San Antonio, TX; Cristina Obregon Seymour of Ruidoso, NM; Sierra Salton of Tulsa, OK; Vanessa McGraw of Big Sandy, TX; William Lewallen of Washington D.C.; Nick Lewallen of Charlotte, NC; Herbert Taylor of San Rafael CA; Trevor Taylor of West Point, TX; and Diane Lawson of Dallas, TX.

Also surviving are 11 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Colonial Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 2 PM with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating where Madie was a long time member. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
