Mr. Harold Augustus Sears,Jr. age 89 of Snyder, TX, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at Home in Snyder, Texas after a lengthy illness.
Services for Mr. Sears will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Snyder, Texas with Reverend Brian Adams and Reverend Tony Wofford officiating. Interment will follow at 4 PM at the Llano City Cemetery in Llano, Texas under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Sears was born on Tuesday, January 22, 1924 in Barnsdall, OK to Harold and Ruby (Fiddler) Sears. He married the love of his life Mary Margaret Green on Wednesday, December 01, 1948 in Alluwe, Ok. Mr. Sears graduated from school in Nowata, Oklahoma. In 1943 he joined the army in Tulsa, Ok. and served with the166th General Hospital Medical Group during World War II in Rhineland Central Europe and France. His service awards are the American Theater Ribbon and World War II Victory Ribbon and two Bronze stars. After his time in the service in 1946 he started to work for Stanoline Oil Company in Kansas and was transferred to Post, Texas in 1947 and continued in Texas to Levelland and Snyder. After 40 years in the oil industry he retired in Snyder.
