Katherine Wemken

Katherine (Bowen) Wemken, 85 longtime Hermleigh resident died at 3:15 PM, on Saturday at Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. Funeral service for Mrs. Wemken will be at 2PM Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Hermleigh with Rev. Alan Culp, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Wolf Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

She was born on Thursday, January 1, 1925, in Scurry County, TX to the late John Lawrence and Myrtle Elizabeth(Cox) Bowen.
She married to Don Wemken on 04/15/1943 in Snyder, TX. He preceded her in death.

Mrs Wemken was a beautician and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hermleigh.

She is survived by:

a daughter, Marilyn Elizabeth Briggs of Angleton and a son Tommy Don Wemken of Odessa.

5 Grandchildren:
Mark and Susan Briggs of Lake Jackons Texas, Bryan and Randy Briggs of Granbury, Steven and Gisella Briggs of Fairland, Ty and Tommie Wemken, Odessa, Shara Shaw of Odessa.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 Tuesday at Bell-Cypert-Seale.
