Bobby G. Mccormick

Bobby McCormick, 80 ,of Snyder, TX passed away at his home Sunday morning after a lengthy illness. Funeral service will be at 2PM Tuesday at the East Side Church of Christ with Mr. Tom Holcomb, Mr. Steve Barrett and Mr. Don Browning officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
He was born on Tuesday, July 30, 1929, in Scurry County, TX to the late Claude Ellis and Violet (Askew) McCormick and and had lived here most of his life.
Married to Billie Lee Pliler, daugther of E. A. "Buddy" and Nell Pliler, on 05/30/1950 in Abilene .

He attended Abilene Christian College where he graduated with a bachelors degree. He was a longtime member of East Side Church of Christ and served as deacon for 13 years and elder for 37 years. He served as mayor of Snyder when it was recognized as All America City and Sparkle City. He also was on the Scurry County Industrial Foundation; Member of the Rotary Club; served on City Council. Mr. McCormick served in the Army National Guard. He was vice-president of McCormick and Sons, Inc, retiring in 1994.

Mr McCormick was preceded in death by a son, Mark McCormick on December 7, 2009.
