Bill Lyon

Bill Lyon, 75 ,of Snyder, TX died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Carillon House Vista Care in Lubbock, TX. Funeral service for Mr. Lyon will be at 10 AM Wednesday at the East Side Church of Christ with Mr. Tom Holcomb and Mr. Brian Starr officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Lyon was born on August 8, 1934, in Memphis, TX to the late W. S. and Cynthia (Wingrove) Lyon. He married Sue Reynolds on December 10, 1960 in San Antonio TX.

Mr. Lyon was a graduate of Friendswood High School in 1953; earned a bachelor of arts degree from Abilene Christian College in 1957; and a masters degree from Sam Houston State in 1970.

He taught elementary at Cloudcroft and Floresville, taught at Northshore High in Houston, Canyon High, and moved to Snyder High in 1971 where he taught until his retirement in 1993. He taught a total of 34 years. He was a member of the ACU Alumni Association, ACU Choral Society; Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Retired Teachers Association.
He ws a longtime member of East Side Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Lyon.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 PM Tuesday at Bell-Cypert-Seale
