Milton R. Stephens

Milton R. Stephens, 72 ,lifetime Scurry County resident, died Monday June 14, 2010 at Midland Memorial Hospital West after a brief illness. Funeral service will be at 10 AM Thursday at East Side Church of Christ with Mr. Tom Holcomb officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale F. H.

He was born February 7, 1938, in Scurry County, TX. to the late J. T. and Zada (Cummins) Stephens.
Married to Patricia Ann Page on December 21, 1957. She preceded him on April 1, 1993. He later married Sue Herring on October 25, 2001 and she passed away on July 21, 2007.

Mr. Stephens was a longtime member of the East Side Church of Christ and was a former elder there, as well as a member of the Gail Church of Christ. He had served in the Army National Guard and was a former employee of Chevron. He retired from Kinder-Morgan in 2007 after 14 years service. He was a farmer / rancher and contract pumper. He served on the Scurry County Producers Board and the Scurry County Livestock Association.

Mr. Stephens was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Flippin and a brother Lonnie Stephens.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8PM on Wednesday.
