Edna Mae Mearse

Funeral service for Mrs. Edna Mae (Gatlin)Mearse, 88 ,of Abilene, TX will be at 2PM Wednesday at the Bell-Cypert-Seale Chapel with Rev. Jim Drake of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale

Mrs. Mearse passed away Sunday afternoon in Abilene, after a lengthy illness.

She was born August 6, 1921 in Mena, Arkansas to James A. and Lenora (Barton) Gatlin.
She had been a resident of Snyder since 1951 before moving to Abilene about six years ago. She was the last of nine children in her family. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Snyder.
She was married to Cecil L. Mearse on June 2, 1941 in Snyder, Texas He passed away on July 19, 2009.

Survivors include:
A Daughter and son-in-law, Mendi & W. O. Elmore of Abilene; A Son & daughter -in-Law, Max & Linda Mearse of San Marcus,Tx.

3 Granddaughters-Melanie Mearse of San Marcus, Tx.; Marci & husband Michael Sawilowsky of Fort Worth, Tx.; Bethany & husband L.J. McCulloch of Brownwood, Tx.

Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until service time on Wednesday at Bell-Cyert-Seale
