Rita E. Sojourner

Funeral Service for Mrs. Rita E. Sojourner, 98, of Hamlin, will be at 2 PM Wednesday at Bell Cypert Seale Chapel with Mister Tom Holcomb, Church of Christ pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell Cypert Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs Sojourner passed away Sunday in Wesley Court in Abilene after a brief illness.

She was born October 15, 1911 in Burkett, Texas to James Oscar and Eulalah Harwell Sojourner.

She married W. C. (Bill) Sojourner on May 28, 1929 in Brownwood, Texas. They moved from Abilene to farm near Hamlin in 1970. Mr. Sojourner passed away October 20, 1994.

Mrs. Sojourner was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Hamlin.

Survivors include a son Jimmy Wayne Sojourner of Abilene, a daughter Barbara Sojourner of Snyder and a daughter in law, Barbara Ann Sojourner of Abilene, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son , W. C. (Bill ) Sojourner, Jr. (January 21, 2003) and 4 siblings.
