Alene Virginia Martin

Alene Virginia Martin of Snyder Texas went to be her cherished Lord after a long illness on September 29, 201`0. She was born to Frank & Lovidy Walker in Ranger Texas on January 14, 1924 and was raised in Loraine Texas.

She was an avid tennis player and attended McMurry College. She was a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church and served as a Pink Lady for many years. She was a supporter of the American Cancer Society and worked many blood drives. She enjoyed gardening and painting nature scenes. Her life was devoted to Christ and her loving family.

Surivors include, Merril R. Martin, a devoted husband of 67 years, three sons and daughters in law, Terry and Martha Martin of Snyder; Barry and Bonnie Martin of Brownwood and Lane and Melody Martin of Snyder. Five grandchildren and their spouses: Tamara and Greg Cannon of Lubbock; Brandon and Annie Martin of Midland, Hope and Anderson Veiga, of Milford Delaware, Nick and Allison Martin of Washington DC and Logan Martin of Branson Missouri.
Also surviving are five great grandchildren: Catherine and Martin Cannon, Tyler and Drew Martin and Joshua Veiga. Mrs Martin was preceded in death byt her parents, four brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 PM Friday at Bell-Cypert-Seale and the funeral serv ice will be at 2PM Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Buddy Payne, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale.
