Mayme Lee Crowder

Mayme Lee Crowder, 93 of Snyder, Texas died on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Forever Home care facility in Snyder, Texas. Funeral Service for Mrs Crowder will be at 2PM Saturday at the Bell Cypert Seale Chapel with Rev. Jim Drake, associate of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Snyder Cemetery, under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale.

Born April 12, 1917 in Paris, Texas, to the late George & Mayme (Moore) Gibson She was married to the J. Elmo Crowder on September 24, 1939 in Midland, Texas. He preceded her in 1989.

She was a longtime Snyder resident and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was co-owner of Crowder drug, manager of Erwin Furniture in the 80"s, city council member, life member of the PTA, a band booster, and active in school functions


Surviving are son, Geoge Crowder & Neva Howell of Snyder, TX, daughter and son in law, Janie & William Robinson of San Angelo, TX.. a daughter in law, George Ann Crowder of Midland

10 grandchildren: Rich Stoes, Las Cruces, NM, Jim & Tia Stoes & Phoenix AZ, Shane and Jennifer Umphress, Las Cruces, NM, Chance and Brandy Umphress, Tucson, AZ, Christopher and Jo Crowder, of Cypress Springs Tx, Stacy and Holly Crowder, Dallas, Tx, Damon Crowder,College Station, Corey Crowder, Huntington Beach CA, Lee Anne and Robert Curry, Midland and Brent and Marsha Crowder, Midland. 16 Great Grandchildren and and a number of nieces and nephews..

She was preceded in death by a son, Jim Crowder and 2 sisters Frances Brown and Louise Crow Weaver; 2 brothers, W.R. and Marshall Gibson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM Friday at the funeral home.
