Arvis Lee "A. L." Carey, 94 of Snyder Texas passed away on Thursday October 7, 2010 at Cogdell Assisted Living.

Services will be at 2 PM Sunday at the East Side Church of Christ in Snyder Texas with Mr. Tom Holcomb & Mr. Steve Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale F. H. Visitation will be from 6-7 PM Saturday night at Bell-Cypert-Seale F. H.

He was born on September 10, 1916 in Grove, Oklahoma.

He married Angelea Jacobs on April 15, 1939 in Burkburnett, Texas. They were Married for 71 Years.

He was employed by Texaco for 33 years retiring in 1982. He enjoyed doing woodwork and built chest of drawers and toy boxes for his great-granddaughters. He also built other pieces of furniture and was very proud of his work.

Mr. Carey was a longtime member of of East Side Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for many years.

He is survived by his wife Angelea, (1) Daughter & Son-in-Law, Jan & Ray Watson of Hamby, Tx. (1) Son & Daughter-in-Law, Scott & Charlotte Carey of Merkel, Tx. . He is also survived by (4) Granddaughters, Kelle Spinn & her husband Craig of Burnet, Tx., Kriste Burnett of Mineral Wells, Tx., Sunne Schaake & husband Scott of Abilene, Tx., and Tracey Carey of Merkel, Tx. . He is survived by (5) Great Granddaughters, Megan Spinn of College Stations, Kristen Spinn of Burnet, Brittane & Brianne Schaake of Abilen, Tx., and Lindsey Carey of Merkel.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Eva (Boyd) Carey, (1) Brother Ted Carey, and (1) Granddaughter Shawna Burnett
