Lawrence Barnes age 80 of longtime county resident died Friday, October 29, 2010 at Kent County Nursing Home in Jayton, Texas after a lengthy illness.

Services for Lawrence Barnes will be at 10 AM Monday at the Bell-Cypert-Seale Chapel with Rev. Danny Williams, pastor, Lighthouse Assembly of God Church officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Funeral Home.

Lawrence Barnes was born on October 14, 1930 in Holiday, Archer County, Texas to the late Albert M. and Vivian Ruth (Chaney) Barnes.

Mr Barnes was a U. S. Marine veteran serving in World War II and the Korean War. He worked for Pool Services for 35 years.
He was married to Maggie Shifflett Fagan on September 2, 1960 in Holiday TX

Survivors include:
Wife - Maggie Barnes, of the Polar community
a Son - LaWayne Fagan of Greenwood, Tx
a daughter in law, Janet Fagan of Midland
Granddaughter - Amanda Fagan of Midland

Many nieces and nephews including Joy Ricker of Kingsland, John and Sharon Barnes of Hudson Oak, Tx

In addition to his parents, Mr Barnes was preceded in death by:
two sisters, Elizabeth Copperage and Patsy Rogers; six brothers, David, Eugene, Huey, Bob, Dan and Bill Barnes;
three sisters-in-law; Mary Barnes, Joyce Barnes and Pat Barnes; a niece, Cathey Barnes Kennon; two nephews, Ricky Barnes and Walter Cribbs.


Visitation will be from 4 to 5 Sunday at Bell-Cypert-Seale
