George Eldred Schoolcraft

George Eldred Schoolcraft was born June 27, 1947 in Gorman, Texas to O.D. and Myrtle Schoolcraft. He was the ninth of ten children. He went be with the Lord on December 12, 2010.
Funeral service for Mr. Schoolcraft, 63, will be at 2PM Thursday at the East Side Church of Christ with Mr. Tom Holcomb, Church of Christ Minister officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale. George gave three years to the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and worked at Exxon Mobile for 35 years, sometimes heading to exotic locations like Indonesia and central Africa for extended periods. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping, RV-ing, skiing, golf and sports of all kinds. His family and friends will remember him for his sense of humor, his willingness to have fun above all things, and who accepted people for who they were; he was a good brother, a stellar friend, a kind father, and a decent human being.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister Arlene Ruckman and his brother Eddie (Pat) Schoolcraft.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Janine A. Schoolcraft, his son Samuel Schoolcraft and daughter-in-law Deidre Schoolcraft of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his daughter Beckie Schoolcraft Thomas and son-in-law Jay of Hallsville, Texas; his son Matthew Schoolcraft of Lubbock, Texas; his step-son Rob Fischer and daughter-in-law Carla Fischer of Lakewood, CA, his stepson Chad Fischer and daugher-in-law Kelley of Westminster, CA; he is also survived by his grandchildren Gabrielle Schoolcraft, Jackson Schoolcraft, Kylie Thomas, Preston Thomas, Emma Fischer, Cade Fischer, and Aidan Fischer; he is survived by brother Charles Schoolcraft and sister-in-law JoAnn from Midland, Texas; his sister Billie Echols from San Antonio, Texas; his brother Mike Schoolcraft and sister-in-law Judy from Gilmer, Texas; his sister-in-law Carolyn Schoolcraft from Midland, Texas; his brother Louis Schoolcraft and sister-in-law Kathy Schoolcraft of Colorado City, Texas; his sister Leona Browne and husband Jimmy from Colorado City; his sister Nelda and brother-in-law Jordan Linscomb from Junction, Texas; his sister Martha Dillard and brother-in-law Fred Dillard of Snyder Texas; his sister-in-law Sally Bernhardt and brother-in-law Herb of Witchita Falls, Texas; his sister-in-law Ailish Schutz of Marin, CA; and, numerous nieces and nephews.
