"I could not, at any age, be content to take my place by the fireside and simply look on. Life
was meant to be lived. Curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn
his back on life." - Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962) The life of a one-of-a-kind Texas woman is one to be remembered. This is her story...
we knew her by "Jess".
Jessica Rochelle was born on September 14th 1978 by Danny Wayne Williams and Connie Elaine "Hollis" Williams. She came out with the prettiest blue eyes you ever saw. From the very beginning, Jessica took this world by the horns. She loved life, plain and simple ,from jumping off cliffs at Panther Canyon to breaking unruly
broncs for her daddy. After working all day side by side with her family, outworking a normal man, by the end of the day, she would clean up like a Texas Bluebonnet shining in the sun, turning the heads of every boy in sight. In fact, after seeing Jess for the first time, one New
Mexico boy even said, "God Bless Texas!" Jessica had her share of mishaps growing up with her 2
older sisters, Julie and Rebekah. We should remember the times camping at the ranch catching turtles and her love of horses. Jessica loved to joke and laugh from brilliant satire to the practical jokes at the court house scaring
her co-workers. However, most of all was her love for people and her Lord, Jesus Christ. At an early age, Jessica was called to be a missionary.
This calling would be on her life through her adolescent years until she acted upon it by attending the School of Ministry in Peru. This experience provided 3 months of delving into the
Word of God. Fasting and prayer were the key components that brought Jessica to know Jesus
Christ for herself. In late 1999, the perfect man
came into her life, an up and coming evangelist from Albuquerque, New Mexico. His name was Justin Coleman. From the time he first walked into her life, she and everyone else knew
that it was a match truly made in heaven. Justin moved to Snyder and the two were married on
May 20, 2000. While living here in Snyder 5 years, God called them to Canadian where they currently pastor today. While there, they had two
more strapping boys named Justin Levi and Jess Cotton.
In January 2010, God called her and Justin to a new and painful ministry. During her last year,
6 months and 17 days, she remained faithful to the call for souls holding on to the scripture
found in Joshua 1:9, "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; Be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed. For the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest". Many testimonies of healing and salvation were born during this time.
She was called home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2011 at 5:45 AM. She was a fighter to the end. Jessica fulfilled the scripture in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His
appearing."
Her legacy of soul winning will go on through us who she left behind. We will miss her.
