Marlin D. Terrell age 81 of Snyder, TX, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Lubbock Heart Hospital in Lubbock, Texas after brief illness
A Masonic graveside service for Mr. Terrell will be held a 10AM Saturday at Hillside Memorial Gardens. A Memorial service for will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Daina Mayfield, Pastor, officiating. Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Terrell was born on February 06, 1930 in Collin County Texas to the late William Dock Terrell and Alma (Lusk) Terrell. He was married to Jorita Terrell on June 4, 1949 in Collin County. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2010.
The family moved to Snyder in 1965 from Collin County. He was longtime Scurry County Farm Bureau Manager. He began his career with Farm Bureau in Collin County in 1958. He also served as agency manager in Wichita County and later, Terry County. He became the agency manager in Scurry County in 1965. He served Farm Bureau as an agency manager for a total of thirty-one years, twenty four of that in Scurry County. He retired in 1989. He then served ot the Scurry County Farm Bureau Board from 2000 to 2006, serving two years as president and three as vice president. In additon to this Mr. Terrell was also a rancher. He was a member of the Scurry Masonic Lodge 706, the Snyder Rotary Club, the Order of the Eastern Star and the First Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brother, J. W. Terrell and Elton Terrell.
Survivors include:
Son - Gary & Empress Terrell, Lubbock, TX
Daughter and Son-in-Law - Judy & Keith Summer , Midland, TX
Sister - Juanice Stanton, Prosper, TX
5 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and 2 great grandson.
Memorial may be made to one"s favorite charity.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 PM Friday evening at Bell-Cypert-Seale.
