Wernette Lloyd Smith

Wernette Lloyd Smith age 88 lifetime of Snyder, TX, died Thursday, September 01, 2011 at Mitchell County Hospital in Colorado City, Texas after a lengthy illness.

Funeral service for Mrs.Smith will be at 10 am Monday at the Bell-Cypert Seale Chapel with Rev. Daina Mayfield, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Ira Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Funeral Home.

Wernette Lloyd Smith was born on August 19, 1923 in Fluvanna to the late Tolliver Argalus and Margaret Anne (Werner) Faver. Mrs. Smith was a lifetime resident of Snyder. She married Earnest Weldon Lloyd on December 24, 1941. He preceded her on November 12, 1965. She worked for H & R Block as a tax preparer for over 25 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the American Legion and the V.F.W. Auxilliary and was a member of the Pink Ladies at Cogdell Hospital. She was also active at the Scurry County Senior Citizen Center where she enjoyed playing cards and dominoes.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Anne Pitner and a grandson, Richard Lee Lloyd.
