Memorial Service for Stanley Craig Talbott, 52, is set for 2 pm Thursday in the First Baptist Church. Stan passed away on February 14, 2012 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Dr. Marty Akins and Rev. Tony Wofford will officiate. A reception will immediately follow the service in the Garden Room of the First Baptist Church.
Born August 23, 1959 in Monohans, Stan grew up in Snyder and played on the high school golf team. With his infectious smile and personality, Stan never met a stranger and had the unique ability to make everyone around him smile. He had an intense love of music and enjoyed playing guitars with his friends and family. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the special trips he took with his children. He attended the University of Texas in Austin and had a degree in geology. He was employed by Industrial Oils of Midland.
Survivors include three sons and a daughter in law, Thomas and Christina of Killeen, Aaron of San Marcus, and Michael of Arlington; one daughter, Stephanie Talbott of Midland; two grandsons, Garrett and Colby Talbott; his parents, Virblene Talbott of Olney and Cloyce and Anita Talbott of Snyder. He is also survived by two sisters and brothers in law, Stacy and Mike Walker of Brentwood, Tennessee and Lisa and Brent Beck of Midland; one sister in law, Jana Talbott of Fort Worth; a special friend, Mandy Terry of Loraine; several nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Talbott.
Honorary pallbearers include Mark Duke, Bill Bass, Mark Hargrove, Mike Murray, Joey Hardin, Jeff Richardson, Kim Lancaster, Nels Thomsen, and Bill Blaine.
