Ross Blanchard, 89, of Snyder, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Hoyt House Assisted Living in Sweetwater.
Funeral service will be at 2PM April 21, 2012 at First Christian Church in Snyder with the Rev. Wendell Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-7 PM Friday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born Decemebr 12, 1922 in Haskell, OK to Ross and Pearl (Lunsford) Blanchard, he married Francis Boren in 1955, and later married Ernestine Harris in 1991. Ross was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in North Africa and Italy. He lived most of his life in Snyder where he worked as an engineer associate at R.E. Smith Oil Company and then at Snyder Sand and Gravel COmpany. He dearly loved his church and was blessed in serving others.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marjorie Cox; one brother, Jack Blanchard; both wives, Frances Boren and Ernestine Harris; three nephews, Bill Griffith, Jerry Griffith, and Tommy Griffith.
Survivors include one step daughter, Jonila McKee and husband, Frost, of Pflugerville; two step sons, Robert Harris and wife, Dorothy, of San Angelo, Gary Harris and wife, Vicky, of Dallas; one nephew, Brent Blanchard and wife, Nadene, of Sweetwater; three nieces, Jana Bentle and husband Joe, of Sweetwater, Sue Ferrell and husband Roy, of Muskogee, OK, and Jean Farmer and husband, Bill, of Oktaha, OK; eight step grandchildren, Kyle McKee and wife Marites of Oahu, Hawaii, Josh McKee and Mark McKee of Pflugerville; Nathan Harris and wife, Melissa, of Amarillo; Anna Beth Lester of Oro Valley, AZ; John Harris of Henderson, NV: Kelly Pacette and husband Kyle of Dallas; Katherine Harris of Dallas; and five step great grandchildren.
