Frank N. Konvicka

Born in Shiner, TX December 5, 1926, Frank N. Konvicka passed away May 2, 2012, at 85 years of age due to a recent illness. Frank was the son of the late Laddie L. and Mary (Kurtz) Konvicka. He married Modean Riley on April 11, 1990 in Snyder. As a young man Frank served as a United States Marine. He worked as a heavy equipment operator the majority of his life. After retirement Frank continues to work in the community. At the time of his illness he was employed by the Scurry County Senior Citizens Center. Frank was a dedicated worker and enthusiastic about helping others of all ages. frank was also a longtime supporter of the Snyder FFA, where he was awarded and Honorary Chapter FFA Degree 2003-2004, for his continued support of the program. Frank was a member of the St. Elizabeth"s Catholic Church. He enjoyed being actively involved in all church activities and served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist. Frank was also a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Frank leaves behind a loving family and many friends.

He is survived by; his wife Modean, along with her children and grandchildren, a daughter Barbara Mansur and husband Bruce, and son Tommy Konvicka and wife Tronda along with their children. Frank was also survived by five sisters and one brother.

A visitation and rosary will be held in honor of Frank at the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home on May 4, 2012 at 6PM with Mr. John Bane officiating. Graveside services will be held on Monday May 7, 2012 at 10AM at the Shiner Catholic Cemetery in Shiner, Texas with Deacon Joe Machacek officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church, Scurry County Senior Citizens Center, or West Texas Rehab.
