Irene Bennett

Mrs. Irene Bennett, 92, took God's hand on February 19, 2014 at Snyder Healthcare Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 2PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

She has been a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church since she moved to Snyder approximately 23 years ago. She was born in Karnes City, Texas on February 3, 1922 as the youngest of nine children. The family moved to Rockport, Texas and all but two sisters remained there.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Shults, her husband, Jim Bennett, and eight brothers and sisters.She remained a homemaker until she entered the business world at the age of 38. She enjoyed bowling, golf and fried catfish but her main focus in life was her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn House and her husband Larry of Snyder, Texas; Jeanne Johnson of Snyder, Texas; Debbie Harrington and her husband Dell of Pflugerville, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

No family visitation is planned.
