Mrs. Helen Jo Patterson, 83, of Snyder, Texas died on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her residence after a brief illness.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 16th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. Services for Mrs. Patterson will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jim Sullenger and Mr. Tom Holcomb officiating. Internment will follow at the Fluvanna Cemetery.

Mrs. Patterson was born on June 27, 1930 in Murphy, Texas to Robert and Maggie Pearl Warren. She married Royce Patterson on June 5, 1965 and he joyfully adopted her four children. Mrs. Patterson was a homemaker, 4-H leader, and active in the PTA while her children were growing up. As a young woman, she loved to play baseball, fish and hunt. Despite impairment from a stroke in 1979, she was full of vitality and took great pleasure cooking for, and interacting with friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Wright and husband Tommy of Snyder, daughter Rhonda Patterson and Robert Shulman of Houston, son Tommy Patterson and wife Nena of Victoria, and son-in-law, Tommy Smith of Midland. Mrs. Patterson is survived by her sister, Juanita Cochran, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who fondly refer to her as “Aunt Jo.”

She was preceded in death by her husband Royce in 2001, her daughter Donna Smith in 2003, as well as her siblings Bobby Warren, Jake Warren and Nell Price.
