Joshua Lee Gilbert went to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014.

Funeral service for Joshua Gilbert will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Central Baptist Church in Hermleigh with Bro. Josh Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pyron Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

He was born on April 27, 2001 in Lubbock, TX. Joshua would have been an eighth grader this year. He was looking forward to playing football for the Hermleigh Cardinals, But our Jesus called him home early.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Mack Warren and Bill Lionberger.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Shelia and O.L. Lane of Hermleigh; his father, Douglas Gilbert of Lubbock; two brothers, Douglas and Jacob; his paternal grandparents, Jim and Joyce Lionberger; his grandmother, Maryietta Gilbert of Lubbock; his great-grandmothers, Vinita Warren of Hermleigh and Marilyn Lionberger of Weatherford; three aunts and one uncle, Angie and Jerry Smith of Hermleigh and Nellie Gilbert and Donna Gilbert, both of Lubbock; and three cousins, Calvin Long, Bryant Long and Amanda Long, all of Hermleigh.
