Mr. Robert "Bob" Roderick O'Day, 79 of Snyder,TX died on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at his residence in Snyder after a lengthy illness.

Services for Mr. O'Day will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 , at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Ernie McGaughey and Reverend Brian Adams and Mr. Jim Erwin officiating.

Mr. O'Day was born on August 28, 1934 in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Patrick Felger and Jean Olive (MacKenzie) O'Day. He married Monette Schweers on August 28, 1957 in Hondo, Tx..
Bob received his BS and Master of Education from Sul Ross University.
He was named to 1st Team All American Athletic baseball team in the NAIA Division. He was elected into Who's Who in American Colleges for two years. He later was inducted into the Hall of Honor.
Bob was an educator for 32 years, having taught and coached at Snyder ISD for 30 years. He coached golf at Western Texas College for 10 years, and later became Athletic Director. Bob was a member of the Southwest Basketball Officials Assoc. and Texas Coaches Assoc., as well as Sul Ross alumni Assoc. and TSTA and TRTA.

Bob was a member of First United Methodist Church, having taught Sunday school for many years, and was a member of the church choir. He was a member of The Gideons International for many years.

He is survived by

Son - Mike O'Day and wife Janet, Fair Oaks Ranch, TX
Daughter - Tammy Smith and husband Brett, Boerne, TX
Daughter - Tracey Caple and husband Steven, Dallas, TX
4 grandchildren:
Lindsay and Shannon O'Day,
Tiffany and Tanner Neves,
2 step-grandchildren:
Desiree Anderson and husband Jared,
Michael Smith
2 sisters:
Connie Leazenby and husband Jim, Belton, TX
Roxene Brewer, Mansfield, TX
1 sister-in-law:
Carol O'Day, Pasendena, CA
and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

He was preceded in death by one brother, Pat O'Day Jr.and
Kendall Jowers, Bob's dear friend.

Visitaion will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Friday night at Bell Cypert Seale Funeral home.
