There are no words to adequately describe the life of a man who brought each of us into his home and loved us as only a father can.

Shorty graduated from Electra High School and Midwestern State University. He taught us the value of education. He proudly served his country during the Korean War and taught us that freedom is earned. He retired from Texaco after 39 years of service and taught us that hard work was the key to success. He loved to fish, hunt, play cards and garden, teaching us that life was to be lived to the fullest.

Shorty was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Lewis Barnett, his son, Cory Brown, his brothers, Curtis, Clifford and Clifton, and his parents Lidy and Pearly Barnett.

He leaves behind his daughter Michele, wife of Gary Mosman and their son Todd Mosman. His daughter Laurie Sherman and her children Joey Sherman and Stacy Young, wife of Mike. Son Terry Brown and his son Landon Brown. Son John Brown and his wife Stephanie and their children Tanner Brown, Haley Hildebible, Presley Haile, Reese Haile, and Chelsea and Brittany Brown.
