Mr.Howard Smith, Sr., 84 of Snyder,TX died on Sunday, January 04, 2015 in Lubbock, TX.

Service for Mr. Smith, Sr. will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 , at 2:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Rev. Shannon Harrison officiating. Pastor Daryl Ruffin will be assisting. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith, Sr. was born on September 26, 1931 in Moscow, AR to Joe and Mattie(Donnelson) Smith.He married Eloise Newsome on December 05, 1963 in Snyder, TX. She died May 20, 2011.

Howard Smith Sr. became a member of the Snyder Community in 1949. He started working at the Conoco Service Station but moved on to Universal Oil Well Service where he worked for over 35 years. At the same time, he owned and operated Smith Janitorial Service, Smith Recreation Center and Smith Vending Service, before retiring. Howard Sr. was an astute business man and was very giving to his community.

Howard Sr. professed his love for Christ and was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eloise, 2 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 daughter.

Visitation will be held Friday 01-09-2015 from 6 PM to 7 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
