Service for Mrs. Juanita Ashmore Chaney of Bastrop, TX, will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 , at 11:00 AM at Ira Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Juanita Ashmore Chaney’s sweet spirit arrived in heaven on Feburary
16, 2015, at the age of 102. There to welcome her was the love of her
life George Forrest “Frosty” Chaney. Also there to welcome her was her
Papa, Wilford Reed Ashmore, and her Mama, Addie Newham Ashmore, along
with her son, Robert “Bob” Norred, as well as many other family and
friends.

Juanita was born on July 26, 1912, in rural Stephens County Texas.
She met Frosty in Wink, Texas, and married on February 3, 1933.
Together they lived in Texas, Washington state, and spent their
remaining years together in Loco Hills, New Mexico. After Frosty’s
death in 1972 she relocated to Stephenville Texas to be near her
sister Ruby Corbell. She later lived in Bishop, Corpus Christi,
Austin, and finished her journey in Bastrop, Texas, always living
close to family.

Juanita, or “Mimi” as she was known to many, found great peace in her
love of the Lord. She was a scholar of the Bible who not only read it
daily but also lived by its’ words in both her actions and deeds. She
was an accomplished seamstress/cook/homemaker, a loyal Southern
Baptist and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived, and will be greatly missed, by her daughter Gaynel
Chaney Roberts of Red Rock, Texas. Her grandchildren Brandon (Monica)
Roberts also of Red Rock, Bruce (Sheryl) Norred of Cypress, Texas and
beautiful granddaughter Shawnna (Paige) Ward of Snyder, Texas. Her
great-grandchildren Amaris, Avery Grace, and Jaxon Reed Roberts of Red
Rock, Nicole (Brian) Milhauser of Snyder, Texas, Justin Lawrence of
Austin, Texas, and Brandon Davis of Denver, Colorado. Two great-great
granddaughters MaKenzie and Shelby Milhauser of Synder along with
many nephews, nieces, and wonderful friends. Juanita is also survived
by one of her best friends in this life, Imogene Washington, of
Bastrop, Texas.

Juanita will be buried at Ira Cemetery in Ira, Texas, on Thursday,
February 19, 2015, at 11 a.m. Mark Gardner, pastor of the Ridgetop
Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, will officiate the graveside
celebration of her life. At her request pallbearers will be her
nephews Ed Murphy, Tom Murphy, Larry Chaney, Michael Chaney, Steve
Chaney, Doug Chaney, and her good friend, Ron Roberts. Memorial
contributions can be made in her name to Ridgetop Baptist Church, her
final church home. May we all learn by her legacy of unconditional
love.
