Ted Olsen Sr.

Theodore Martin Olsen Sr. of Hermleigh, Texas left this earthly life for his heavenly home March1, 2015 at the age of 77. Services for Mr. Olsen Sr. will be Thursday, March 5, 2015, 10:00 AM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. Internment will follow at 2:00 PM at the Texas State Veterens Cemetery in Abilene. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Olsen was born February 12, 1938 to Chauncy and Agnes Olsen of Queens, New York. At the young age of 17 he joined the United States Navy and then later the United States Air Force. While being stationed at Dyess Air Force base in Abilene, Texas he met Nova Haile and they were married on September 3, 1961. Ted worked as a police officer in Abilene, Texas where he received a letter of commendation from the district attorney and also later worked in Grand Prairie, Texas as a police officer before settling in Hermleigh, Texas in the70’s. He was a hard worker all his life and self-taught himself all about repairing and programming computers. Even after retiring from the Snyder Gas Plant in 1998, he continued to work for a local computer company in Snyder, Texas, called Computer Solutions full-time up until April 2014. Ted enjoyed helping people with their computers. He never met a stranger .

He is survived by Nova Haile the mother of his children of Hermleigh, Texas and their five children, Theodore Martin Olsen Jr. and wife, Debi of Abilene, Texas, Christopher Olsen of Hermleigh, Texas, Thomas Olsen and wife, Renee of Campbell, California, daughters Karen Owens and husband, Todd of Snyder, Texas and Amanda Espinosa and husband, Daniel of Midland, Texas. Also left to cherish are his five grandchildren Dakota Owens, Nathan Olsen, Joshua Owens, Skylar Espinosa and Jakob Espinosa. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Jeanette Olsen and brother, George Olsen.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 6 PM to 7 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
