Mr. Max Stephens , 83 of Snyder,TX died on Wednesday, April 08, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Stephens was born on September 15, 1931 in Willis, OK to Everett and Jetty (Fultz) Stephens. After graduating from Clovis New Mexico High School, Max attended Abilene Christian University on a scholarship provided by the Claude McCormick family of Snyder. He recieved his Bachelor's degree in Business and Religion. He then worked for the McCormick family, managing the Phillips 66 Truck Stop in Snyder. At the age of 35, Max bought D&D Auto Parts. He also partnered with several friends on many successful business ventures. Upon retiring at an early age, Max sold out to his friend, Dub Buchanan. Ruidoso, NM and Lake Brownwood were his two favorite places and spent much time there.
He was an avid boxing enthusiast and toured around the United States, Mexico and Canada with the Clovis Golden Gloves Boxing Team coached by his brother Bob Stephens and Chuck Haas. He enjoyed restoring classic cars with his close friends "Doc" Merritt and E.L. Keller. Max also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a profound influence on all of his family members lives and stayed involved with them throughout their upbringing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joe and Bob Stephens.

At his request, his cremated remains will be scattered in Ruidoso NM at a later date. Family ask that donations can be made to a favorite charity.
