Rogelio “Roy” Cantu, 62, of Snyder, went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in Snyder.
Funeral service for Mr. Cantu will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Roy was born on Jan. 13, 1953 in Sweetwater to Eulalia and Frank Cantu. He was married to Ellen Price in Snyder. They enjoyed more than 10 precious years together.
Roy loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed cooking out and dancing. You could always count on Roy for a helping hand. He was a dedicated worker and never met a stranger.
Roy was a professional truck driver for many years. He was employed by Musslewhite Trucking in Snyder.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank G. Cantu Sr. and one sister, Elva A. Cantu.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Price Cantu of Snyder; his mother, Eulalia A. Cantu of Snyder; one daughter, Sara Cantu and her friend, David Schroeder, of New Braunfels; two stepdaughters, Misty Haynes and her husband, Toby, and Kristi Welch, both of Snyder; four sisters, Myra Pena of Lubbock, Macy Gutierrez and her husband, Marty, of Snyder, Solia Gutierrez and her husband, Manuel, and Delia Ruiz and her husband, Robert, of Sweetwater; six brothers, Frank Cantu Jr. and his wife, Lee, Buddy Cantu, Wally Cantu and his wife, Vera, Adam Cantu and his wife, Irma, and Roland Cantu and his wife, Isabel, all of Sweetwater, and Arthur Cantu and his wife, Cecelia, of Stamford; 11 grandchildren, Rocky, Tommy, Dylan and Mason Haynes, Trinity, Briana and Dox Haddox and Zaden, Matthew, Jayson and Jacob Bohannon; and one great-grandson, David Ligue.
