Roy Lee Beaver, age 77, died Saturday, June 20th at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas after a short battle with cancer.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder,Texas. Family Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23rd from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Cypert Seale Funeral Home in Snyder,Texas. Officiating the service will be Matt Dickey and pallbearers will be Cody Bob Everett, Buster Dickey, Garrett Dickey, Ronny Beaver, Joe Beck, and Weldon Beck.
Roy Beaver was born on April 26, 1938 in Snyder,Texas to Nathan (Pete) and Inez Beaver. Roy had two sisters; Nell and Betty Ann. He graduated high school from Fluvanna High School in 1956; then married Mary Nell Strickland on May 6, 1957 ( 58 years ago). Mary and Roy resided many years in Fluvanna,Texas where Roy farmed and managed the Planter Gin. At Fluvanna , they raised their daughter Cindy and lived happily for many years as they hauled her to rodeos and Roy’s ropings on the weekends. Later in life, Mary and Roy moved to Brady,Texas where Roy spent some of best days. He was employed by 4K Ranch where he spent his days doing what he loved; feeding cattle and riding pastures. Roy was even known to tell a few wild tales at the coffee shop in the mornings with his friends or at the arena in the evenings on the fence after an evening or roping.
Roy Lee is survived by wife , Mary Beaver of Midland; daughter Cindy Drain and husband Daryl of Snyder; three grandchildren; Kayla Dickey and husband Matt of Midland; Kassie Meche and husband Sammy of Aubrey; and Kamie Smith of Snyder; six great grandchildren; Garrett and Morgan Dickey of Midland, Cody and Raegan Meche of Aubrey, and Raelee and Hayden Smith of Snyder. He is also survived by sister, Nell and husband Edwin Parks of Snyder and dear friend Cody Bob, Shanna , and Jessie Lee Everett of Coleman. Roy is survived by so many relatives and friends that have been a huge part of his life throughout the years.
Roy Beaver is preceded in death by father, Nathan ( Pete) Beaver; mother, Inez Beaver, and sister, Betty Ann Beck.
To a tough cowboy that touched so many through the years; may your horses be gentle and your dally be perfect - may you ride high above us all.
