Kathryn Lee Hanks

Mrs.Kathryn Lee Hanks, 83 of Snyder,TX passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in Lubbock.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Hanks will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 , at 3:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hanks was born on December 14, 1932 in Sweetwater, TX to Thomas and Alma (Marks) Lee.She married Maynor "Red" Hanks on February 23, 1963 in Sweetwater, TX. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2007.

Mrs. Hanks was a 1950 graduate of Nemman High School, Sweetwater, TX. She began working out of high school in the medical records department of the Sweetwater hospital. Employed by Cogdell Memorial Hospital as the head of Medical Records until her retirement on December 31, 1991.

As a registered medical records librarian, she consulted with the Price Daniel Unit and the Mitchell County Hospital in Colorado City. She taught medical terminology class at Western Texas College. She was interested with all things about horses,gardening, sewing, crochet and photography.

Mrs. Hanks belonged to various clubs and organizations over the years, including, Sweetwater Riding Club, Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Association of Sheriff's Posses and Riding Clubs (AASPRC) and Stock Horse of Texas (SHOT).

She and Red loved to travel and took great joy in taking the grandchildren for trips.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Vernon Lee; and sister in law, Lanell Lee.
