Lawton Taylor

Mr. Lawton Taylor, 78 of Snyder, TX passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in Snyder.

Funeral Services for Mr. Taylor will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating, assisted by Reverend Randy Gressett. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Taylor was born on October 13, 1937 in Snyder, Texas to Orville and Roberta Taylor. He was a lifetime resident of Snyder. He graduated from Ira High School and Draughn’s Business College in Lubbock, Texas. He retired from Cogdell Memorial Hospital and later retired from Snyder ISD. He married Patsy McDowell on June 14, 1957 in Snyder. They had been married 58 years. Mr. Taylor was an ordained deacon and a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church. He was also a member of Texas Church Builders and Good Sam Travel Club.

He is survived by his wife Patsy Taylor of Snyder, TX; two daughters, Carrie Richardson and husband Jim of Snyder, Cynthia Davis of Columbia, SC; six grandchildren, Brad Richardson of Round Rock, TX, Wes Richardson of Lubbock, TX, Bailey Estes and husband Thomas of Abilene, TX, Sarah Wright and husband Ricky of Ellabell, GA, Alli Davis and Logan Davis of Columbia, SC; one brother-in-law, Danny Fenton of Snyder, TX ; one sister-in-law, Joann McCorkle of Odessa, TX and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Peggy Fenton; brother-in law and sister-in-law, E.W. and Louise Williamson; sister-in-law, Joyce McDowell and brothers-in-law, Dale McCorkle and Rayford McDowell. .

Memorials may be made to Colonial Hill Baptist Church and/or the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 30, 2016 from 5 PM to 6 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
