Virginia was born on April 19, 1920, in Snyder, Texas and lived there her entire life, until recent years when she moved to Abilene, to be closer to her daughter; Janice and son; Jerry.

She was the fourth child born to Ellis and Myrtle Neal. Virginia accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of East Side Church of Christ.

She attended Snyder High School where she graduated in 1940.
She continued to enjoy learning throughout her life, especially reading the daily newspaper and National Geographic.

She especially liked telling people, that she had seen the world change from horse driven buggies, to people traveling in space and the digital age.

On March 22, 1940, she married the late Andrew Houston White and had three children; Janice (White) Hollister, Edgar “Eddie” White and

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and in later years, her sweet, four-legged dog; Susie.

She also loved to travel, read maps, dine out, go shopping and listen to Willie Nelson songs.

Flowers made her smile and most of which, she could name. She was very fond of birthday cake, ice cream, cookies and her daughter’s home cooking. In addition, she especially liked to look at old family photos…which she referred to as, “digging up bones”.

Her closest friend growing up was Zorra Lee (Cole) McKinney, she cherished her neighbors; especially Pat McGinnis and all of her lady friends over the years, from East Side Church of Christ.

Her best friends, were her sister; Nellie and her daughter; Janice.

She was a great cook, seamstress and homemaker but, her favorite job was being Grannie and GG Mom.
