Eunice Elizabeth Lewis Wilcher Graham passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Columbus, TX. Eunice was born on April 8, 1924 to Buell and Jennie Lewis in Scurry County where she was raised along with her siblings Clara Myers Hoskins, Frances Hess, HB Lewis, Roy Lewis and Clinton Lewis. All have preceded her in death. Eunice graduated from Hermleigh High School in 1943.
Eunice married Doyle Madison Wilcher on January 1, 1945. They made their home in Pasadena, Texas where they raised one son and two daughters. they enjoyed a great love for being outdoors. It could be something as simple as sitting outside watching lightning bugs and eating watermelon, or one of their many camping/fishing trips to Sam Rayburn or Lake Livingston.
After Doyle passed in 1975, she married Jack Graham in 1983. He brought much happiness back to her life and they both enjoyed many years together in the Eastern Star. Eunice loved spending time and traveling with their Eastern Star friends and she held many positions in Eastern Star including Worthy Matron in 1987-1988. Eunice and Jack were active members until his death in 1999.
Eunice adored all of her family. She is survived by son, Jimmy Wilcher (wife Nickie) of San Angelo; daughters, Barbara Butler of Houston, and Kathy Hurst (husband)Darryl)of Columbus, TX; two granddaughters, Amanda Race (husband Jeff) of Colorado Springs, CO and Jennifer Krohn (husband Patrick) of Atlanta, GA; one great granddaughter Allison Race of Colorado Springs, CO; Stepchildren, Patty Leckbee(Dennis), Dennis Graham (Edie), Darrell Graham (Sherry) and Cherry Graham(wife of deceased stepson Doyle) all of the Deer Park/Pasadena area; and many loving and supportive nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in Columbus on Monday evening 5:00-7:00 PM at Henneke Funeral Home. A second visitation will be Tuesday evening 5:00-7:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home in Snyder, TX. Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Hermleigh United Methodist Church with the burial following in the Hermleigh Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews - Ray Myers, Roy Burleson, Jimmy Burleson, James Lewis, Jeff Lewis, and Bobby Beard; Honorary Pallbearer - David Beard.
Memorials may be made to Hermleigh United Methodist Church, where their great grandparents were charter members, at P.O. Box 241, Hermleigh, TX 79526.
