Myrtle Evelyn Box was born May 2, 1920 in Rotan, Texas. She married Aubrey Hollis Joiner "Cotton" on June 18, 1939 in Burkett, Texas.
Mrs. Joiner lived in Snyder since February, 1976. She was active in the First Baptist Church with a special love for the Woman's Missionary Union. In 1998 she participated in a mission trip to Tanzania.
Mrs. Joiner was an artist that won many ribbons over the years. She was an active member of the Palette Club until it disbanded. In 2005 the Scurry County Museum presented a one women show of her paintings.
She enjoyded quilting, sewing, and all types of art and crafts.
Mother loved spending time with family and especially, her grandchildren. She was loved and admired by her family and her many friends.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Burleson, the nurses at Cogdell Memorial Hospital, and the staff at Good Life. Also, we would like to thank the many friends who have been so loving and helpful. Your visits and thoughts and prayers over the last several years meant the world to Mother. Grace and Juan Escobedo were a blessing with their loving care for her for many years, and we are very grateful.
Mrs. Joiner is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Wanda and Thurman Pylant of Priddy, Texas; Yetta Latimer, widow of Wayne,of Westminister, Colorado; Karen and Ray Wilkerson of Austin, and Kathy and Joe Breneman of Phoenix, Arizona. Her survivors also include four grandsons: Tony Latimer, Mark Latimer, Greg Pylant, and Todd Pylant; three granddaughters: Tanza Latimer Martin, Kori Wilkerson Creswell, and Lauren Wilkerson Murphy; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Joiner was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Joiner, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Joiner will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Todd Pylant officiating and assisted by Rev Ben Reid. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
