Evalyn Alice Tate

Evalyn Alice Tate, 91, died on Friday, January 19, 2018 in San Antonio after a short struggle with pneumonia.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with her nephew, Rev. Richard Henderson, officiating.
Internment will take place Thursday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma next to her children’s father Fred Walker. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Evalyn was born on February 28, 1926 in Lexington, Mississippi. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She never met a stranger, was a blessing to everyone she met and will be greatly missed.

Evalyn worked as a housewife and later had a short career in nursing. She was active in her church, Kiwanis and politics throughout her life. She enjoyed travelling, shopping, crocheting, quilting, gardening, cooking and attending the Snyder Senior Citizens Center. She also loved to raise and breed dogs, and is already greatly missed by Midnight, her Maltipoo.

Son: John David Walker and wife Luann, Snyder, TX

Daughter: Brenda Kaye Murphy and husband Michael, San Antonio, TX

Sister: Ruth Evans, Monroe, LA

Two Grandchildren: Shannon Nicole Shannon and husband Jayson, Artesia, NM
Cody Walker, Snyder, TX

Great Grandchild: Hannah Rae Shannon. She loved to travel with Hannah, and always boasted about how beautiful she is and her swimming accomplishments.

Numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, two sisters and three husbands.
