Lynn Baldwin was born on September 5, 1935, in New Orleans, LA to John Raymond Reedy and Annie Laurie (Cockerham) Reedy while both parents were in New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Lynn grew up in Eupora, Mississippi starting piano lessons at age 7, moving to Trinity, TX in 9th grade where she studied piano at Sam Houston State University before graduating from Trinity High School. An alum of Blue Mountain College, Baylor University, and Hardin-Simmons University, she earned BM and MM degrees in piano, leading to post-graduate work at Columbia University in piano pedagogy.
Lynn was raised in a dedicated Christian home and was taught that any talent she or anyone exhibited was given by God the Father. It was each person's responsibility not to waste these gifts, but to polish them and give them back to God. She was a lifelong church musician as well as a piano, organ, and theory teacher for 64 years in Snyder before reluctantly retiring in 2021.
In true Southern fashion, her door was always open. Lynn loved her students and dear friends as much as her own family. As a mother, she taught us a strong work ethic, love for Jesus, love for others, love for music, and how to have fun. Her laughter was contagious.
