Services for Mrs. Causey will be held Friday, December 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Chapel with Mr. David Strunk officiating. Interment will follow in the Denver City Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Bessie Causey, daughter of Estes E. and Hannah Isabell O'Keeffe, was born Bessie Juanita O'Keeffe on July 4, 1927 in Breckenridge, Texas and departed this life in Snyder, Texas on December 11, 2019 at the age of 92 years.
Bessie moved from Ranger to Denver City, Texas in 1939 where she attended Denver City schools until she graduated in 1944. She was united in marriage to James N. Causey on December 23, 1943.
She was a housewife and mother to three children. She loved cooking, sewing and crocheting. She and her husband loved RVing and traveled through out the US. She moved to Snyder in 2003 to be near her daughters.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Devitt, and Ann and Edwin Galyean of Snyder, by one grandson, Scott and Joanna Devitt of Arlington, by one granddaughter, Adelia Barker and Joe Churchill of Snyder, by three great-granddaughters, Hannah and Josh Sandoval of Snyder, Hope Barker of Snyder and Tori Devitt of Arlington, by three great-great-grandsons, J. D., James and Jonathan Sandoval of Snyder, by one nephew, Howard Gayle of Eastland and one niece, Holly and Jay Lemons of Dexter, Missouri,
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jim in 1993, her son James in 1994, her great-grandson Jonathan in 2011, her sister Dolores in 2019, nephew Mark Gayle in 1982, sister Annie Pearl and special friend Tom Machen.
Visitation will follow the service at First Baptist Church.
