Betty Ivone Row was born December 17, 1941 in Gouldbusk, Texas to JD and Ella Mae Row. She passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 in Denton, Texas after a brief illness.
Services for Mrs. Gilbert will be held Saturday, December 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home, in Snyder, Texas with Reverend Matt Lowry of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder.
Betty, or “Ivone” as her family called her, moved to Snyder in the early 1950’s and graduated from Snyder High School and Jessie’s Beauty School. She married her high school sweetheart, Franklin Gilbert, on August 21, 1965.
Betty is survived by her husband, Franklin, and their 4 children:
Javier Gilbert of Snyder; J’Lynn Bradley (RC) of Denton; Corey Gilbert (Kinnaree) of Denton; and Marcy Campos (Randy) of Lubbock. She had six grandchildren: Jordan, John David, Julian, Jadyn, Paige and Drew Betty is also survived by one brother, Terry Row (Debbie) of Abilene and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, JD and Ella Mae Row; brothers Jackie and Jerrell Wayne; and sister Lawanna Vincent.
Betty was a true homemaker in every way. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting, decorating, and gardening. She worked very hard and was dedicated to her friends, family and church. She made a wonderful home, no matter where she lived.
