Bobby Ray Lack

Bobby Ray Lack, 78 a resident of Hermleigh, TX finished his Earthly RACE on September 23, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas. He was surrounded by his loving family and the excellent Nurses of Palliative Care at Covenant Hospital.

Bobby, an only child, was born on February 18, 1940 in Corsicana to Johnny Levi Lack and Flora Evalina Powell.

He attended school in Snyder and Abilene, then enlisted in the U.S Navy until his discharge in 1963.

He married the love of his life, Darlene Wemken, in July 1966. A hardworking individual, Bobby worked in the Oil Fields of West Texas as a Lineman. In the 80's he started his own oil field related businesses in Snyder.

One of Bobby's greatest achievements was his battle and victory over small cell lung cancer. Bobby was a Straight Shooter, a loyal friend and someone who was helpful to his neighbors and strangers.

He enjoyed the horse races in Ruidosa, watching Gunsmoke and "taking a ride around the block". His family and friends will miss his sense of humor and optimism, even in the face of adversity.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Levi and Flora Lack. He is survived by his wife Darlene of Hermleigh, Son Richard of Dallas, Son Johnny, future Daughter-in-Law Carrie Keith and Granddaughter Minor Belle all of Austin.

Visitation will be held at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Friday, September 28, 2018 from 6-7 PM.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 12:00 PM at Lonewolf cemetery.
