Mr. Bryant Douglas Scott, 77, of Snyder, passed away on December 15, 2024. A memorial visitation will be held 2 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Doug was born in Stamford, Texas August 27,1947. He was the second son of George W. and Loveda (Tidwell) Scott from of Neinda, Texas.
Doug graduated from Abilene High School, class of 1965.
His banking career started September 1, 1965 when he parked cars for Citizens National Bank Parking Garage in Abilene. He joined the United States Naval Reserve in 1966. After serving a tour in Vietnam in 1967 – 1969 aboard the USS Colonial, he returned to Citizens National Bank as a bookkeeper in 1969.
In September of 1975, Doug went to work for First National Bank in Graham, Texas. After a short stay there, Doug moved to Wichita Falls to work in real estate and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Midwestern State University. He returned to InterFirst Bank, N. A. in Abilene (formerly Citizens National Bank) in 1980 and began on the "loan side" of the bank. While at InterFirst, Doug obtained his Master of Business Administration from Hardin-Simmons University. Doug advanced his business career at Crocker National Bank and Wells Fargo Bank in 1985 - 1989. He worked in all areas of the banking industry except the trust department. Doug was employed by Joe Jackson at Snyder National Bank on September 1, 1989. His duties included operations, loan administration, loan review, compliance and anti- terrorist/anti-money laundering.
Doug was a devoted and loyal father and grandfather. He was the father of two sons: Charles (Katie) Scott of Abilene, Texas and Bryan (Mandi) Scott of Lubbock, Texas. Also survived by Grandchildren Morgan (Nati), Dillon (Cierra), Ella, Gus, Teddy and special friends Mike Hale and Jacob Escareno.
Doug was an expert wood worker and he enjoyed working in his shop and taking care of his yard. While taking a break from those activities he enjoyed watching Patrick Mahomes, Fox News (with the volume cranked up) and was a strong supporter of President Trump.
Dad was known for his willingness to share his talents, experiences, and knowledge with others. He loved to make food and furniture as gifts for loved ones, friends and neighbors. His legacy will live on through those pieces for generations to come.
Doug loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with his whole heart. He was a member First United Methodist Church, Snyder, TX for many years and was ready to meet The Almighty.
Over the years Doug had many dogs that he enjoyed spending time with while in his shop or out in the yard.
Doug will be cremated and his ashes will be spread at the Neinda cemetery (Jones County). Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Sheri Lieb, Ryan Beridon, Kinney Robinson and Amy Rico provided comfort and love for Dad and the family every minute that he was under their care. We are forever thankful for them.
